ThreadShop x Studio Clay: The Collab You've Been Waiting For

Collaborations are only worth doing when both sides bring something the other doesn't have. We've been thinking about this for a long time — and when we connected with Studio Clay last year, we knew immediately this was the right fit.

Who Is Studio Clay?

Studio Clay is an independent design studio based in Lisbon, run by two people: Mara Silva and Tom Voss. They've spent the last three years creating visual identities, editorial graphics, and art prints that have accumulated a quiet but devoted following.

You may not know their name, but you've probably seen their work. Their graphic style — raw, textured, beautifully understated — has appeared in independent magazines, gallery shows, and on the walls of some of the most aesthetically considered spaces in Europe.

We wanted that sensibility on fabric.

The Process

This wasn't a logo swap. We sat with Mara and Tom for three months, going back and forth on concepts, colorways, and placement.

The brief we gave them: "Make something that looks better the more you look at it."

They came back with seven concepts. We fell in love with four of them immediately. The other three needed time. By the end of the process, we had eight pieces that felt genuinely collaborative — neither purely ThreadShop nor purely Studio Clay, but something that could only exist from both of us together.

The Collection

Tee 01 — "Erosion" A washed black tee with a large-scale graphic on the back. The image is abstract — layers of texture that suggest landscape without depicting it. Front has a minimal Studio Clay mark.

Tee 02 — "Grid" A bone-white tee with a precise, geometric front graphic. Clean. Architectural. Tom's influence is unmistakable here.

Tee 03 — "Soft Signal" Mara's favorite from the collection. A muted terracotta tee with a faded, signal-like graphic that feels both analog and contemporary.

Hoodie — "Archive" A heavyweight charcoal hoodie with allover micro-texture and a sleeve print. This one is going to be hard to get. We produced fewer units than anything else in the drop.

Long-Sleeve — "Frequency" A slate grey long-sleeve with a wraparound graphic that you can only fully see when the sleeves are extended. A detail that rewards attention.

The Numbers

• Limited to 200 units per item
• No restocks. Ever.

Once it's gone, it's gone. This is by design — ours and Studio Clay's. Neither of us wanted this to become a permanent line. It's a moment.
